As a user of the Bavarian State Library (BSB), you have the opportunity to use the digital services and electronic media (e-books, electronic journals, databases, etc.).
As LMU’s central service facility, the University Library makes literature and scientific information available and optimises its use.

We provide you with a high-quality portfolio of electronic and printed specialist literature, offer you visible platforms for your electronic publications, operate and develop attractive places to learn and work at 16 locations and preserve and make accessible the unique old holdings of valuable manuscripts and prints as LMU’s cultural heritage.
You can apply for a user card via the Bavarian State Library.
The State Library card also authorises users to borrow items from the University Library’s stacks.
The e-media of the University Library cannot be used for licence reasons.
University Library of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich
The University Library of the Technical University of Munich is the scientific information centre of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The library is made up of nine sub-libraries at the four university locations in Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan and Straubing.
The University Library of the Technical University of Munich has a technically and scientifically orientated collection in line with the university’s subjects. In addition to the central library, the TUB has other branch libraries in the Munich city area as well as in Garching, Freising and Straubing. The University Library of the TU Munich is an official DIN standards reference centre. In addition to the DIN standards, the VDI guidelines can also be viewed in full text via the ‘e-ResearchCenter’ research portal.

The HM Library supports study, teaching and research at Munich University of Applied Sciences. It is the central point of contact for all members of the university for the procurement of literature and information. As a public academic library, it is also available to interested external users. The Munich University of Applied Sciences Library mainly holds literature from the fields of technology, economics, social sciences and design, in line with the university’s degree programmes. In addition to the central library, the university library has two further decentralised branch libraries.
A user card is required to use the services. You can find information on how to apply here. The card is available free of charge and must be renewed annually. The information on how to apply is only available in German. If necessary, you can ask a librarian for help.
