Online catalogue (OPAC)

OPAC

You can search the collections of all campus libraries in the Macromedia Library catalogue, and check which books are available to borrow and from which locations. All our books are housed on open shelves, which means users can access them directly at the campus libraries.

The Macromedia Library’s journals and periodicals have not yet been added to the OPAC. Once this has been done, we will post an update here.

The full details about each item include the following key information:

  • Location

    • Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich or Stuttgart

  • Media type

    • Reference collection or lending collection

  • Shelf number

    • e.g. QP 624 D264

  • Availability

    • Available, on loan or missing

Using the OPAC

The Macromedia Library catalogue only lists the books that we have in our collections, not individual articles or chapters in the books. It is not possible to search these articles or chapters.

Results for all sites are always listed together, since we only distinguish between the sites at the level of individual copies. Accordingly, if you filter by location, this simply means that no items for which no copies are available at your campus will be displayed in the list of hits.

The OPAC is designed in responsive Web Design and can be used on all devices. The same functions and options are available on all devices.

You can start your search in the OPAC in the search field on the front page or on this page. The front page of the OPAC can be reached here.

Additional OPAC functions

  • You can view your personal details and loans under “Your account”. Information about loan conditions can be found under Loans.
  • In your user account, you can renew loans and reserve items.
  • You can create and share lists of your favourites.
  • You can add comments using tags.
